Mathematics

Mathematics is a much valued and respected qualification in education and in the workplace. Taught well, it will empower a generation to make their own mark on the world beyond the classroom. Thus it is increasingly important to make mathematics real in school, beyond taught skills and arbitrary facts, encouraging mathematical fluency and creativity and with the vital transferable skills such as communication, reasoning and understanding relationships being made explicit as an intrinsic part of the curriculum.

The following courses offer a wide range of opportunities for teachers to develop their pedagogy and practice, build capacity for enjoyment and engagement and consider the implications of the new curriculum and assessment initiatives for our work in classrooms, departments and schools.
